Long before clocks, astrologers divided the time between sunrise and sunset into 12 "day hours" and the night into 12 "night hours" — each hour ruled by a planet in the ancient Chaldean order. The tradition suggests matching your activities to the hour's ruler: Mercury hours for writing and messages, Venus hours for connection, Saturn hours for slow deliberate work. Use it as a gentle scheduling ritual rather than a rulebook.
Without a longitude we assume you're on your time zone's central meridian — times shift about 4 minutes per degree away from it. Very far north or south, where the Sun may not rise or set, planetary hours can't be computed this way.
